Hello! Today I learned about Fruits like Apples, Oranges, Lemons, and etc.
Did yo know that the colour Orange was actually named after the fruit orange. Did you know in the olden days when my great grandpa was a kid Oranges used to be Christmas!
I also learned other ways to make apple fruit. Even though my favorite way to make apple sauce is my moms way I find this way seems good two.
I also seen how orange juice was is made. And the one Orange farm made their own 1 million dollar orange harvester! I think there harvester ther is very cool!
They use truck that have 400 horse power that has more horse power than a Case IH Puma!
Hello! Today I just finish making a new blog called the farm kids blog where a ton of homeschool farm kids right about their lives or right things about animals plants and etc. Here is the link; https://howtobecomeafarmer683582778.wordpress.com/
Hello! Here is my assignment from Mrs.Fish: Write one paragraph on something that you were scared to try, but you tried it anyway and were glad that you did.
Once on one of my vacations in Ottawa’s Calypso water park and I wanted to go on the biggest slide with my uncle and mom. But then the life guard said less heavy has to go in the front of the tube and so I did it and it was very fun! But what I was really scared of was losing another goat. Because my pet goat Ernest (2017-2018) had died when we had left to go on vacation once during the winter. But I’m glad I did go! Because there was this congo water roller coaster where you would sit in a tube and the water would push you in a course it was very fun! One more thing I was scared to try was the cold toilet you would slid into a hole that looked like a toilet and then you would go into the hole then into some cold water. But the reason I was scared of that slide was because they said cover your next just in case you hurt yourself going down the hole because the guy before me pack flipped into the hole and almost hit his head against the edge of the hole. But I’m glad I tried all of those things because I had fun and got to see my little cousin when he was a baby!
Here is my assignment from mr.Livingston! Describe each of the inventions studied in the course this week and how they impacted history. Also write about the most interesting thing you learned, and why.
I learned about buttons not buttons on your computer but clothing buttons, Oil Painting, Cannons, and the Spinning Wheel.
So the clothing button was invented about 50 years before The Little Ice Age, but never got popular until the little ice age came because the old ways of ting their clothes let to much hot air get out wich would make them cold then the buttons got popular. back in the medieval times you could get buttons made out of wood, metal, silver, and gold.
Oil Painting. Before Oil painting came people used egg yolk and pigment or mucus to make paint and they crunch sapphires in to little pieces too make blue paint. Then once Oil painting came along they still used things like Sapphires to make color but the new form of paint was more efficient.
The Cannon. Before the Cannon came catapults and trebuchets were the only heavy military weapons then they invented the cannon which was a ball or rock shot out of a bell like tube that was powered by gunpowder cannons had been very popular for a very long time. But once hier military inventions came like the misssle it grew lest popular as they did not need the cannon anymore.
The Spinning Wheel. Thanks to the Spinning Wheel in pioneer times they were able to make clothes 10x times faster than the wool strings when before the Spinning Wheel it was the wool strings that where ten times faster to make.
And that’s the end of this essay thank you for reading!
Hello! This week I learned about edible flours like Rosemary, Chive, and etc.
Last friday when we went to find that swamp we also found a plant that looks like Rosemary but is not Rosemary because it does not smell.
If anyone knows what this plant is please tell me where is west nippising wich is about this little part of Ontario Canada.
I learned that there a recipes to make kandy’s with flour petals and sugar!
I wonder how it tastes. I have been pretty busy the past few weeks that’s why I haven’t gotten to doing my essay. like last week was the week of my birthday.
Last friday me and my family did another check on that one field where the hunting stand is and we also went on the other side of the road to find the swamp that was causing flooding in that field. On our way there Olivia and Emma had a science project to do so I voluntarily joined in! Here is a picture of the print!
One of the first animal prints we found was hard to figure out but Olivia thinks its a Bobcat and Emma and me aren’t sure. We then found a giant Tillage Radish that a Moose or Deer had pulled out of the ground.
As we continued on we fund part of a Jack Rabbit winter coat.
We then found some duck foot prints.
We then found some Moose turds! from last thursday I then found some Moose tracks. We then had to be careful just in case there was a Moose around. Here is two things you need to know just in case you encounter a Moose. 1 If a Moose starts to charge you hide behind a tree. 2 never chase a Moose of your property with a snowmobile, four wheeler, car, and truck always use a tractor. We once had a Moose encounter and she had the brain worm disease and she was walking around in circles because that’s what it does until it eventually dies. The Moose had broke one of our fences that had cows in it luckily no cows got out so after that I took my fourwheeler and came and joined dad to guard the fence from the Moose then I stayed with Moms fourwheeler wich dad was using and guarded the fence while dad did other things then Grandpa came on his four wheeler and told all the people on the side of the road to leave because the Moose was to scared to walk by the highway back into the bush. then about 5 hours later our neighbor who is a very good hunter cam without a gun and got me to open all the gates that would lead away from the farm then after that he made some mating calls which did not work so then his wife came with the side by side and tried to chase the Moose out but then it jumped the fence and went into the hay field! Then into their bush!
Here is a picture of the problem that the swamp was cosing.
This picture was taken from the middle of the putle.
We then found some very valuable pop cans one our way to find the swamp.
My grandpa said that these pop cans are very rare. And that the root beer cans are worth 24$ on ebay. The Mason’s company was located in Chicago my favorite city!
We then found the swamp and a mouse nest inside an old dead Birch tree!
Once we reached the swamp we found an insectivore plant called the pitcher plant here is a picture I took of it!
Then we found a trail that a Bear might of made leading to some blueberry plants.
We then found two super big white pine trees!
And then we found a Red Pine and a great dead spruce for firewood!
The Moose. Most of you must of heard about the Moose the biggest wild Canadian animal growing up to 6.8 feet in height and getting bigger sometimes. A normal Hereford cow can grow 4.5 feet to 5,5 and and yet it is way smaller than the Moose here is a picture of a herford standing besides a Moose:
Here is a Moose fight:
Here is a Moose attacking a pickup truck:
Here is a Moose braking a car window:
And last video is a Moose fighting against some Bears:
Mooses can be very dangerous. Like in the first video the one Moose could of almost ran over that one car.
And that’s it for the Moose and Canadian classic animal!
Hello! Last day was my birthday so I did no school also we had a pretty hectic first three days of the week as we got 22 new stolkers.
And since today is a resting day I will only be doing an essay for my schoolwork.
Here is the cycle of fossil fuels which can also be called: Carbon as it is mainly made out of Carbon.
Electricity can be fossils fuels as an interesting fact. Here are some uses for fossil fuels:
Electricity. Coal alone provides half the electricity in the United States.
Heating. Oil and natural gas are commonly used for heating homes as well as providing heat for industrial applications.
Transportation. Oil supplies 99 percent of the energy for cars in the form of gasoline and diesel.
We use fossil fuels a lot on the farm as it is what powers our tractors, four wheelers, trucks, and many more of our farm equipment! Without fossil fuels we would still be using horses and buggies as our transportation and farm tractors.
Hello! Sorry I haven’t got to this lately we have been very busy as my dad and I are gone a lot working fields and seeding fields or other practical farm things. So I’m here now! Today’s instructions are about a level 2 with 134 pieces. (Not including character).
Hello! here is my assignment from Mr.Livingston! Describe each of the inventions you studied in this course this week, and how they impacted history.
Here are the four inventions I learned about: The Trebuchet, Distilled Spirits, the Vertical Windmill, and the stern mounted router.
The Trebuchet: It is a type of catapult that uses a long arm to throw a projectile. It was a common powerful power of the engine until the advent of gunpowder.
And before we get two Distilled Spirits look at this meme!
Distilled Spirits: Distilled Spirits where rather called Vodka, Whisky, WIne or etc. The Distilled Spirits were made by evaporating the alcohol inside a bottle of water and alcohol but they only evaporated the alcohol then the steam would go down a funnel like tube. Which then led to a second bottle that had could water pouring on top of the bottle to cool it down then thanks to the cold water the Distilled water was more concentrated.
The Vertical windmill: This windmills very first version was very unstable and made out of wood. The base of the old windmills looked like houses with a second tall house on top of it. The i bet you on very windy days some of does windmills would collapse.
The Mounted Router. Thanks to the mounted router the wright brothers were able to steer their plane which has now lead to our modern day planes. Then the Wright brothers first had the idea to put a mounted router on their plane when they seen on many boats that had those from the 1300 AD to current time.
And that’s it for this wonderful essay!
One last thing.
Me: The Wright brothers plane crashed do you want to now why?
